The kids did a mini art camp this week. Some friends and I each took a day and we made crafts with the children. I think it was one of Brynn's highlights of the summer. She loves doing crafts, so to do multiple crafts in one day was pure heaven. The last day was mine to host. One of our activities was a hand print t-shirt. (Inspired by my cute apron that my friends from San Diego made for me last year when I moved to FL). Anyways, they turned out so cute, and it was a fun way for the children to remember their week at art camp.
FINGER PUPPETS was the next activity. They got to design there own finger puppets out of felt and a rubber glove. They were all super creative. Brynn ended up using her finger puppets in church today as props for her talk on families and temples.
FOOD ART was what we did for snack time. I just put out fruit and different finger foods and the kids designed their own creations, and then of course ate them. Brett actually had the day off so he was there the whole time helping. I don't think I could have done it with out him. He helped out so much, and the children loved having him here.
PUDDING ART was another activity that we did. I just bought different flavors of pudding and dyed them different colors. The kids had more fun eating the pudding than using it, but they came up with some cute designs. (The last time I did pudding art was when I was at my 8 year old birthday party:)).
Anyways, I am so glad the kids got to do this. I hope we do this every summer.
WICKED
For my birthday my sweet friend Jenny gave me a ticket to see WICKED in San Diego. I had been wanting to see this for a long time. Anyways, we had such a good time at the show. It was nice to see it, and it was super nice to just have a girls night on the town with Jenny. (She has been so awesome to help me get through this last little while of pregnancy. She is always planning something, so I have things to look forward to. She really has been a lifesaver. Thanks Jenny!)
